Are people born with leadership skills or can this be taught?

I would like to believe that everyone has the opportunity to become a great leader if that is what they desire and want to work at this?!

I would suggest that leaders are born because it’s mainly a natural instinct. All of us are presented with opportunities on a day to day basis but only a few pick up the clues and really succeed!!

Ash.

not all leaders are aware of the abilities. I see it as a privilege to find these talents and nurture them to blossom.

Knowledge and experience is an important equation here, however, what is taught to you is also taught to tens of thousands of people and if all of them are also doing the same thing, then how can you emerge as a leader. I guess I am saying that it is something you are born with! Sarah, Boston, US

I believe we are born with certain personality traits that are developed over time. So leaders are self-taught. Leaders have all types of personalities and traits, but the skills are self-taught through observation, "deliberate practice," continuous and ongoing learning and development. Sean, New York!
