Action is the real measure of intelligence

posted by Justin Barry, Group AdministratorSaturday, June 26th 2010 @ 2:23 PM

"Action is the real measure of intelligence."
-- Napolean Hill, author
Napoleon Hill (October 26, 1883 – November 8, 1970) was an American author who was one of the earliest producers of the modern genre of personal-success literature. His most famous work, Think and Grow Rich, is one of the best-selling books of all time. Hill's works examined the power of personal beliefs, and the role they play in personal success. He became the advisor to President Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1933-36.  (source: wikipedia)

Knowing what to do when life doesn't follow your script -- knowing what not to do when faced with the unknown -- having the courage to go where you've never been before -- AND THEN taking action --

-- THAT to me is intelligence.

I agree with what I THINK he was saying.  You can read every motivation  and personal success books that have been written.  But the intelligent person is really the person who gets off his butt and DOES something.  Without action, nothing will happen.  Somebody or something has to get the ball rolling. Until then, intelligence doesn't help you a whit.

I like the quote!

I also agree with it; take action that matters and the timing may also have to be considered!

Take Care

James.

Get off his butt should have been used in the quote!
