Sunday, March 14th 2010 @ 11:41 PM

LSF Members - Making the difference!

As a member of Leaders-Speakers-Forum, we would like our members to learn and develop their leadership and communication tallents by participation.  Here are a couple of examples:

  • Review and comment on the featured articles so the author and the members learn from the assessments and debates from the members.
  • Provide encouragement and guidence to our members or guests who are looking for feedback from a discussion forum they posted
  • Submit an educational article once a year on the subject of leadership and communication
  • Help grow our professional network, by inviting others to join our forum
  • Get involved in our sponsored competitions as this brings out the best in our members in learning and developing their skills.

So thank you for your continued support and looking forward to your contributions in 2010 and beyond.

Best Wishes

Justin Barry, Owner of Leaders-Speakers-Forum

Hi Barry,

You've got a fine site here with a lot of content for those who are willing to look around for it.

I see how much you do on the site, and I appreciate it.  It takes perseverance to keep going sometimes when you don't get a lot of positive feedback.  Unfortunately, all the work you do goes for nought if visitors are unwilling or too lazy to interact. A speaker who gets up and lectures is often not very interesting and successful.  It is the speaker who can engage his audience and get interaction between the audience and the speaker, and also interaction among the audience members themselves.  Sometimes I feel like I'm a shadow in the night, sneaking down a dark, damp alley to slide my post under the door and then quickly steal away.  I don't really have any interaction between other  members and guests as much as I  should.  Is it my fault? Probably. I confess I have lapses in my visits here. I'm writing this post as a thank you for the site you've provided, and also as an invitation to others to try to interact with each other in a more collaborative and supportive way, instead of everyone posting only to the individual questioners and challenges found on the site.

I do hope this post isn't taken the wrong way. This is by no means a criticism of LSF, Barry, as I think your are doing a GREAT job,but rather a wish that this site turns into a genuine forum where we can all become international friends and interact socially as well as professionally.

Love to all,

Jerry Vaughn

Hi Everyone,

As newly elected president of Superstition Toastmasters in Mesa, Arizona (named after the famous Superstition Mountains where the Lost Duchman Mine is located) I enthusiastically invite any and all members of Justin's wonderful site to our 60th anniversary celebration on Friday the 13th, August, 2010. We'll have a great dinner at a fabulous restaurant here in Mesa, preceded by a meet and greet cocktail hour, and followed by a magic show, speakers, and a lot of FUN!!! Plus, it's not really that far. Sue, it's only 5,242 miles from Leicestershire. And we already have a lot of UKers in Arizona.  Maybe it's the sun and 7 inches of rain per year. I'd LOVE to meet all of you on L-S-F.

Sincerely,

Jerry vaughn

Justin,

Perhaps we need an online challenge that we take to our own clubs and report back here. You know, a friendly inter-club competition. It would have to be the honor system, of course, but I trust all of you.  You seem to have an endless supply of great questions.  Perhaps you can come up with a new competition. Of course, if people don't compete in your online competition merely by posting an answer to a real or theoretical question, I suppose they're not likely to take  the initiative to actually go to their club and get something done.  But....you never know.

Good luck, Justin.

Thanks for all you do here.
