Qualities of top teams

Sunday, March 28th 2010 @ 7:49 AM

Are you working in a top team?  Would others be in agreement with your views on what makes a top team?  So for the record, here is my assessment of it and hope that you share your views also:

Objectives and goals are shared by the team

Everyone in the team is clear about what is expected of them and what the goals are.  Each team member has also being given the opportunity to give their input into this and they feel part of the team and larger organization!

Team displays outstanding behaviours

The team leader encourages and leads by example on the important values for the team such as honesty, punctuality, responsibility, quality work etc. The team support and lead on this also.

Each team member adds value

Greater efficiencies often happen when each team member contributes in a unique way. So having a team that comprises of different skill sets and responsibilities get the best efficiencies.

Leadership is clear

On a great team, everyone knows who is in charge and they also know what leadership qualities they can contribute to the team.

Review and Evaluation on a regular basis

High quality teams regularly evaluate its progress.   It should focus on results and quality.
