The language of leadership - The choice of language is very important when you need to bring people on-board and get their buy-in. This article explores one idea that is a powerful yet easy concept to use.
---
So you want people to respond to your message, take up the challenge, move with the times, then you better use
stories to create this affect.
Your story needs to project a postive future that will grab your audience's attention and one that stirs their emotions
and memories. If you want an example, look no further than the Bible stories about Jesus!
So I hear you ask, what is the framework for using stories in this context. Well, I think it only takes 4 steps :-)
Step 1 - determine your goal
What action do you want your staff, listeners to take regarding your message/proposal.
Step 2 - establish your tactical storyline
What is the vision you want your listeners to see through the stories you present
Step 3 - come up with a storyline that meets your listener's agenda
What are your listener's wants, needs and future goals
Demonstrate this in the story examples you give (suggest at least 2-3)
Step 3 - Call for action!!
Simply ask you audience for a commitment and/or first steps
So I'll say, Go and get them!!
Kind Regards
