There is no 'political' difference regarding what is necessary to correct the present mess. The solution lies in the implemenation of the only sustainable way forward for us all-communal effort and mutual respect. The lunatics that drove us all into this mess must be removed from positions of responsibilty

YES - But I think it would be more likely that the blame game will keep going on, instead of working together and then having an inquest when things are better.

Forgive my simplicity here, but in what way do these 'differences' currently obstruct the Government from 'solving the economic crisis', and in what way would 'setting them aside' allow things to be done better? For 12 years now we have seen that the ranks of the opposition have been ineffective and unable to curtail the behaviour of Fianna Fail.

Thank you everyone for your very insightful opinions - I agree with Mike Webb - the blame game will sadly prevent this from happening!!

YES, but that would be the proper, decent, honest, honourable tack to take, while having the country and her people's best interest set at the top of the list of priorities. So, that certainly ain't going to happen

Your question suggests politicians can make ANY difference and that their effort can help the economy. What a strange notion! Mary
