Hello Members

Please note that we have to suspend the competitions until we have more members/guests wanting to contribute as we sadly had only 2 contributions for our may contest.

For the may competition, I want to personally thank Jerry and Karl for their contributions.

If members have any suggestions to help pick up the involvement from the group, then please send me an email or post your comments to this thread.

Kind Regards

Justin Barry

Hi Justin,

Maybe you could put up some photos of Chippendales or Sports Illustrated swimsuit models. Every hundred points and you get another photo. Maybe a collection of obscure but funny comic strips. No?

I don't know what to tell you, Justin. There are plenty of time-wasting sites people can go to and while away the hours. But I guess its too much to ask for people to come in, spend a few minutes on some challenging questions, and formulate and type up a response. I like it because it causes me to actually think about these subjects and think through an intelligent and plausible response; and I get to read everyone else's response, too. Well,in this case it was only Karl...lol

Good luck!!! I'm personally heading for a thousand points. I hope you don't get tired of reading the same responses from the same people.

First, I must confess to being a bit preoccupied to throughly having to rebuild my computer and data! (It's been my biggest overhaul in 23 years, and it isn't over yet.)

I like to troll all over the world for new ideas and best practices. In my career, it's helped me immensely, and Toastmasters has been no exception. So, in that regard I enjoy hearing from others throughout the world how they have solved (or not solved) various Toastmasters or speaking issues. (But that's me.)

I have fiddled around with Toastmasters' Ning group a bit, and talked to a few who are interested in getting something together in Second Life. I've had to postpone that until I can get my computers/life in order, but rest assured, I'll be putting out the welcome mat for that if we proceed. Imagine worldwide feedback on a speech in real time!

Jerry and Justin, I am sure you have different ideas as to why this venue could be important. Maybe we need to define that.

I am not a real fan of igroops; I find this a terribly confusing setup, although I understand Ning is going away, and I am loathe to participate in Facebook. I wonder if others have been driven away by the complexity. (Sounds like the CL manual, right?)

I'm willing to hang in here. I've already gotten a lot of tangible benefits from this forum.

Hi Justin,

Very sorry for not getting involved at this stage because of work and personal commitments.

Please don't lose faith, I think it is an excellent idea.
